TAMBO COLORADO


Tambo Colorado Archaeological Complex was an administrative center of the Incas, throat Pisco River Valley. It is located about 265 kilometers south of Lima, on the Panamerican Highway South , in the Town of San Clemente , born the Road " Los Libertadores Wari " , which leads to the city of Ayacucho . 37 miles east, after passing through the Towns of Independence and Humay , arrived at Tambo Colorado Architectural Complex . DESCRIPTION
Tambo Colorado is the best preserved monument of the Inca period in the Peruvian coast. This large building complex was built during the rule of the Inca Pachacutec . He served as the local administrative authorities and soldiers shelter and temporary inn Inca in his travels in this area of the country.

The name Tambo Colorado is a name composed of two words of different languages ; " Tampu " Quechua word that means place of rest and Colorado - in Spanish , by the red color that adorned their parades and even today can be seen clearly.
