TOUR SILLUSTANI


On a high plateau, more than 30 kilometers north of Puno, Sillustani is one of the world's largest necropolis. Surrounded by a landscape of stunning beauty, which seems to be summed up in the serene waters of Lake Umayo, the archaeological complex known for its giant "chullpas" (stone towers species), built by Collas and Incas, to bury their dead.

Amidst these plains plateau , more than 3,900 meters, the silence has found his kingdom and the wind rises strongly, as if to disturb the rest of those ancient stone towers or "chullpas" of Sillustani , one of the necropolis extensive in the world , the ancient city that stretches on the shores of Lake Titicaca .

DESCRIPTION
We will be picking up passengers from the hotel they are staying in, to begin our tours. We take a bus that takes about 40 minutes. Upon arrival at Sillustani our local guide will lead us to the top of this old cemetery and there we show most important towers and also give an explanation about the history and mystery surrounding this wonderful place. Here visitors can see beautiful scenery around, where stands the beautiful Umayo Lake which can be seen in its entire splendor from the southern part of Sillustani. Having fully explored the funeral towers of Sillustani, start our way back to Puno, with a stop in one of the traditional houses in the area, where we will appreciate guinea pig farms, fields and other features and learn about the society and way of life of the people inhabiting this part of the Andes located almost 4,000 meters above sea level.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
For this tour we recommend bringing winter clothes, as temperatures tend to decrease in the afternoon. They were advised to bring woolen gloves, woolen caps Chocolates and a bottle of water.

It is also advisable to bring sunscreen, because by now the sun's rays can be very harmful to the skin.
